Enhancing the Quality of Life

Embrace Kids with Sickle Cell

In recognition of the need for pediatric sickle cell advocacy, the Embrace Kids Foundation launched a fundraising and awareness effort: Embrace Kids with Sickle Cell. The goal of the initiative is to enhance the quality of life of our patients and their families by providing increased educational programs, nutrition programs, emergency financial assistance, college preparation services, scholarships, transportation services, holiday/inspirational parties, and other family-based programs.

The Embrace Kids Foundation currently offers programs and support services for over 200 sickle cell families. Sickle cell disease is becoming the forgotten disease and we want to bring more attention to the illness in hopes of increasing fundraising and awareness and gaining the philanthropic support it deserves. More than 80,000 Americans are affected by sickle cell disease, and a significant number of those affected are African-American children.
