Emergency Financial Assistance

A family with a chronically ill child faces extreme financial burdens, as there are many additional expenses not covered by health insurance - if the family even has coverage to begin with. Often, a parent must take an unpaid leave of absence from his or her job in order to be with their child in the hospital and throughout treatment. We offer the following financial assistance:

• Utility bills (gas, electric, phone)
• Rent/mortgage payments
• Assistance with babysitters - offered for the patient so the parents can work or for the siblings while the parents are with the patient in the hospital.
• Transportation - provided for patient families to and from the clinic and other medical appointments if they do not own a car or have any means of transportation. Some children also receive specialized transportation to and from medical facilities for transplants or other individualized treatment options.
