Enhancing the Quality of Life

Inspirational Events

Embrace Kids Foundation hosts several festive holiday and theme parties to lift the children's spirits and encourage all family members to enjoy themselves. The monthly events take place at the clinic, hospital and at outside locations. Our volunteers work hard to ensure that everyone in attendance has fun. We also serve meals on each holiday at the hospital for families whose children are unable to go home.

Holiday Party
Over 700 people attend our annual holiday party and are amazed by the transformation of the Courtyard at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital. Children and families enter into a "winter wonderland," where they enjoy live entertainment, delicious catered food, and activities such as Build-A-Bear, virtual reality, jewelry and ornament making, and much more. Patients and their siblings also receive exciting bags of brand-new gifts.

Thanksgiving
Several Rutgers University organizations cook and serve a traditional meal for patients and their families on the Sunday before Thanksgiving. The dinner is a warm way for the families to begin the holiday season. On Thanksgiving Day, volunteers and staff members offer a comforting dinner for the patients and families who are in the hospital.

Halloween Party
All of the patient families are invited to an annual costume party at the Kohler Estate in Colts Neck, NJ. Their property, including their horse barn, is decorated with zombies, vampires and various haunted Halloween scenes. The children enjoy pony rides, hay rides, and dancing with the DJ. They decorate cookies and have the opportunity to pick their own pumpkin from a huge pumpkin patch outside the barn. The party concludes with a spooky forest walk, complete with goblins and ghouls around every corner.
